Another blog concerning a struggling newbie, but is it? How about the journal writings of two writers? Yes, this sounds exciting, not. My co-writer and I have finished the first book in our children’s series, however, we have not submitted the chapter book to a publishing house. There are still steps to walk through before we can mail to a publisher. For example, here are but a few:

  •        Have the first book proofread and edited by outside sources
  •        Prepare a first book final draft and submission copy
  •        Do an outline and query letter for the first book
  •        Mail the query letter to a publishing house.
  •        Prepare first draft of the second book in the series.
I’m sure I’ve missed something on the list. I’ll consult with my two friends, who are authors, to determine what I have overlooked. My co-writer, Laura, will be arriving this weekend and we’ll be able to discuss our first book and the writing of the second.

Keep on writing,
Candace
